Dual Wielding Enhanced
Every main-hand attack gives a free off-hand attack to characters with Two-Weapon Fighting or the Dual Wielder feat.
What it does
Dual wielders get more off-hand attacks. For characters with the Two-Weapon Fighting fighting style or the Dual Wielder feat:
- Each main-hand weapon attack gives a free off-hand attack, up to 3 per turn. With Extra Attack, every attack of the Attack action gives one.
- A free off-hand attack costs no bonus action; its icon glows while one is ready.
- Works with melee weapons and with ranged off-hand weapons (hand crossbows).
- No free attack after attacks with a two-handed weapon, melee attacks with a shield, opportunity attacks and other reactions, or attacks that cost a bonus action.
- Free attacks that are not used expire after one turn.
- Dual Wielder feat: while you hold a melee weapon in each hand, basic melee attacks with the main hand and the off-hand deal extra damage equal to half the proficiency bonus.
For every dual wielder, enemies included:
- The game's attack with both weapons (the dual-wield toggle, on by default) costs no bonus action.
- After an off-hand hit (an off-hand attack, or the off-hand hit of the toggle), the normal off-hand attack (bonus action) is blocked until the next turn, unless a free off-hand attack is still open. The bonus action stays free for other things.
No Script Extender needed.
