Description

Faster Leveling

Half the experience needed for every level-up, on every level.

What it does

Every level-up needs half the experience, on every level from 1 to 99. Level 99 then needs about 134 million XP in total instead of about 268 million.

XP for the next level Level 1 Level 10 Level 30 Level 50 Level 70 Level 90
Game 50 6,000 105,000 400,000 1,600,000 13,000,000
Mod 25 3,000 52,500 200,000 800,000 6,500,000

What it means in play, with the same fights and the same XP:

Level without the mod 10 20 30 40 50 60 70 80 90 95
Level with the mod 11 24 35 48 58 69 80 86 97 99
  • Early game: almost no difference.
  • Middle of the game: you are 8 to 11 levels higher than without the mod, so fights there get easier.
  • Late game: the gap gets smaller again, because the levels from 81 to 98 still cost millions of XP each.

How to install

  1. Download the zip of the latest release on GitHub (expedition33_fasterleveling_<version>.zip).
  2. Open the game folder Sandfall\Content\Paks\. If it has no folder ~mods, create it.
  3. Unpack the three files of the zip (expedition33_fasterleveling_P.pak, .utoc and .ucas) into Sandfall\Content\Paks\~mods\.
  4. Start the game.

To update the mod, replace the three files with the ones of the new release. To remove it, delete the three files.

How to use

Nothing to do: the mod works as soon as you load a game. Your current level and XP stay as they are; the next level-ups cost half.

Compatibility

  • Game version: 1.5.6 (1.5.6.0).
  • The mod replaces one game file: the level table DT_jRPG_Levels. A mod that replaces the same table conflicts with this one; only one of them works.
  • A game update that changes this table needs a new build of the mod.

Known issues

None yet.

How to build

Anyone can build this mod from its source code and check that the download matches it.

  1. Install the tools: Windows PowerShell 5.1 (part of Windows), UAssetGUI v1.1.0 and retoc v0.1.5 in a folder _tools\uassetgui\ and _tools\retoc\ above the repository (or set UE5_TOOLS), and the game's mapping file Expedition33Mappings-1.5.6.usmap in %LOCALAPPDATA%\UAssetGUI\Mappings\. The game must be installed: the build reads the table's row struct S_jRPG_Level from it. README.md has the details.
  2. Build it: powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File .\build.ps1
  3. Find the files: dist\expedition33_fasterleveling_P.pak, .utoc and .ucas.
