Auto Loot Remaster
Picks herbs around Geralt automatically and, as an option, empties chests you open. Skips quest items, locked chests and anything that counts as stealing.
What it does
No conflicts, no Script Merger: the mod replaces no game script. It only adds its own code next to the game's, so it works side by side with other script mods, and there is nothing to merge.
- Herbs: Geralt picks up the herbs around him by himself while you explore, without the gather animation and without stopping. The radius is 10 meters; you can set 3 to 30.
- Containers (an option, off by default): when you open a chest, barrel or other container, all its items go straight into your inventory instead of the loot window.
- Safe: it never takes quest items, chests locked with a key, clues (red in Witcher Senses), anything that belongs to someone (no stealing: steal yourself if you want to), your dropped items, the stands in Corvo Bianco or a few special containers (for example Geralt's wine collection in Corvo Bianco). For those, the normal loot window opens. It does nothing during the Kaer Morhen prologue and never takes chests or containers from a distance. It also skips herbs that the game blocks right now (you can turn that off).
- Corpses stay with the game's own option (Options > Gameplay > Accessibility > AutoLoot).

How to install
- Download the zip of the latest release of this mod on GitHub (
witcher3_autoloot_<version>.zip). - Copy its
modsandbinfolders into the game folder (the folder that holdsbinandcontent). This addsmods\modKintaroAutoLoot\andbin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc\modKintaroAutoLoot.xml. - Start the game. It compiles the scripts at start ("script compile" screen).
No Script Merger and no installer are needed: the mod replaces no game script, it only adds its own code.
To update the mod, copy the folders of the new release over the old ones. To remove it, delete the folder
mods\modKintaroAutoLoot\ and the file bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc\modKintaroAutoLoot.xml.
How to use
Nothing to do for herbs: walk around, and the herbs nearby go into your inventory. It pauses in combat, dialogs and cutscenes.
Settings in Options > Mods > Auto Loot Remaster:
- Enabled: turns the whole mod on or off.
- Pick up herbs nearby: on by default.
- Herb radius (meters): 10 by default, 3 to 30.
- Skip herbs the game blocks: on by default. The game offers a herb's gathering only while it allows it (a quest can block a herb for a while); with this on, the mod follows the same rule.
- Leave the Corvo Bianco garden alone: off by default. On: the herbs you plant at Corvo Bianco stay for you to pick by hand.
- Empty containers when opened: off by default.
Compatibility
- Game version: Patch 5.01 (
5.0.0.1048522, the remastered edition). Older versions (4.04, 1.32): not tested. - Other script mods: no conflicts and no Script Merger. The mod replaces no game script; it adds its code next to the
game's functions
W3Container.ProcessLootandW3PlayerWitcher.HACK_UnequipWolfLiver. Even a mod that replaces the whole file of one of them works with it, as long as that function stays. - Use only one autoloot mod at a time.
Known issues
None yet.
How to build
The mod is WitcherScript, a menu file and the game's text files: build.ps1 checks the scripts and writes the mod
folder; it needs WolvenKit-7's strings library for the text files. README.md has the details.
